Indigo Adults and the Illusionary World of Maya

I was riding the bus going past Lincoln Park and I saw an odd looking, rather large man in a green t-shirt sitting on the ground on a small blanket. He was scratching his left armpit with his right hand and scattering garbage around him. He was sitting facing the bus I was riding on, though he didn’t take notice of it, and his body was positioned with his legs in a “V” straight out in front of him. He was about 15 feet from the bus.

We went about 3 blocks further north and there was another man, this time sitting in the distant grassy area. He was facing north (as opposed to the other man, who was facing west) but other than that there was absolutely no difference in between the two men. Both were heavy men wearing a green T-shirt and sitting in the exact same position. They had the exact same facial and body features. Both were scratching their left armpit with their right hand and scattering garbage all around. The only difference was the distance from the bus (the 2nd man was about 50 feet) and the direction he was facing (north instead of west).

There is a philosophy that the world that we think we are living in is really a dream world (or maya) and that we wake up when we are sleeping in the imaginary world (what we consider the “real” world).

The challenge in what we perceive as our day-to-day world is to not get caught up in the maya (dream world). This is the goal of a spiritual seeker.

This was depicted in the the movie The Matrix, with Neo transcending the matrix to take his proper place as The One.

This experience of the man (men?) in the park shook me for the last few days because I am working on a meditation program that says these experiences are common for those participating in the program. The program promises to help indiviuals transcend the maya and often makes reference to the Matrix movies as a way of explaining the experience of transcendence.

I’m already intuitive and have had so many strange energetic/spiritual experiences that I usually am not phased by such things anymore. I guess these happenings aren’t so strange when they happen repeatedly and relate to patterns in my life (like synchronicity, manifesting, empathic sensations, telepathy, etc)

But this one is a new one. I am startled by it because I feel a little bit crazy and suspicious of my own perceptions, and I’m a little surprised that I’m even posting this because… well… it’s weird, even for me.

But I’m also somewhat thrilled by it because it could also be an indication that the program is working and I am expanding, even though I don’t really feel that I am.

I’m not posting the name of program yet because I don’t know what to make of it. I only post things that I think are awesome. I do a lot of self testing and 90% of the stuff that I test is not mentioned on the blog because I think it’s only so-so.

I’m not sure about this meditation program yet, but I will keep you posted if more experiences occur or once it has proven to be useful.

By the way, this didn’t feel like deja vu, which I have heard skeptics say could be simply the short term memory resetting itself so that the individual feels like it’s a new but remembered experience.

This experience felt completely new and the man’s distance and direction was different, so that offered some variance to keep me aware of the new experience.

Also, nothing weird happened during that bus trip (I was on my way to get a haircut), and my life has been pretty mundane since then (well, mundane for me). 🙂

So I am unaware of any “glitch” in the maya (matrix) a.k.a. my personal illusionary world, as depicted in the movie, but maybe there was a switch and I don’t know about it.

I would love to know if any other indigo adults have had any understanding of this experience or similar experiences. This is a new one for me and I wish I could explain what is happening on the energetic level, but it hasn’t happened to me enough yet. So maybe someone else can explain…

~ Peace ~
