I like to think that I don’t buy in to the commercialization of the holidays.

And for the most part, it’s true.

I used to think that I detested gift buying at Yule/Christmas/Chanukah because I didn’t want to be part of the process of buying stuff just cause you have feel you have to.

But since then, it has gradually become an exercise and lesson in manifestation.

This year I said, “I’m not buying gifts” and I let everyone know.

But a few days before gift exchanging, my perspective on the matter started to change. I set the intention, “I will only buy items for others if the item will be used and appreciated and is in the right price range,” fully intending to not purchase anything.

Well yesterday I was picking up pastries at the grocery store and the store happened to be next to a Happy Tuesday, which is kind of a mish-mash housing goods store.

I wandered in, and as I went through the isles, I spotted an item and a major alarm in my brain would go off.

“This would be perfect for _____________!”

So I’d pick it up.

By the time I made it through the store, that happened for everyone I celebrate the holidays with.

And they loved what they got.

But I appreciate the exercise of gift seeking and giving because it is a good practice of manifestation.

It was also quite fun to buy those items… not the typical drudgery that is shown on the news shows on Black Friday when shoppers rush the stores at 4am.

I think that has a huge impact on whether the gift will be successful, too.

Everyone… not just indigo adults and indigo children… can feel into the energy with which a gift was purchased. It’s important.

One year ago this month I broke up with my best friend.

Throughout those 25 years of friendship, I had confided in her almost every step of the way, naively believing that I could trust her and that she was a supportive confidant.

Well, a year ago, she was a little more overt in her lack of support. She hated my idea… a creative project that I was very enthusiastic about… and instead of stopping at her criticism, I pushed on and the project came out great!

Well, this infuriated her and she just attacked me verbally and through email unrelentingly.

We are talking about pages of emails about how I shouldn’t have done this project, even though every other person who was involved or had knowledge of it LOVED it and was fully supportive of it.

I was devastated. I didn’t know how to respond.

I didn’t want to return the attack. Even though I was mad and hurt, I knew it wouldn’t solve anything.

I didn’t want to apologize because I had nothing to apologize for. I had an idea. I implemented the idea. Several people benefited from implementing the idea. No harm was done.

I had to decide whether I wanted to work it out with her… truly work it out, for the longevity of the relationship.

And I would have, because I love her so much, but I also looked at the impact this relationship had had on my life, especially the last decade or so.

I had to be truthful and realize that many of the ideas that I had and had shared with her had miscarried after I told her.

Over the last decade, there were a few ideas and pet projects that were so precious to me that I didn’t even tell her, and they always ran on course.

But the ones I told her about almost always got derailed, or sucked in the end, or ended up being a horrible experience.

This is not to say that most of the time she was all supportive and clapping on the outside… face to face.

But after thinking about the course of our relationship, I realized that she had been digging her *energetic* heels into every project that I loved and was encouraging to take off.

By doing so, she was bringing the entire project down or killing it outright.

So I didn’t call.

We haven’t spoken in a year.

Results:

I was sad for a long time, but after I stopped being sad, the ideas kept coming and I kept making them happen and it was easy because there was no one dragging them down.

And it was kind of a relief to not tell her stuff. I thought that’s what best friends did – they told each other stuff that they hold dear.

But maybe that’s not true.

Maybe that’s a pretty sophomoric way to look at BFF relationships.

And towards the end of our friendship, I would dread telling her things, knowing that the energetic impact could be powerfully negative.

Since our friendship has ended, this has been the most productive and amazing year for me. Really. I am feeling a freedom that I can’t remember feeling in a really long time.

It’s the freedom to create without someone I love looking over my shoulder and telling me or thinking “It sucks”.

And I’m so much more positive in general.

She had been mentally criticizing me for years without me realizing it, and now that I have shut her out and her criticism out, I am so much happier.

I can hear my own voice and the voice of the very awesome friends I have now, telling me positive and kind words.

Words, sentiments and thoughts that never would have come out of ex-BFF’s mouth.

And I replaced her with a dog. And the dog is so much cooler! And a lot more supportive!

So I will say it again, my advice to indigo adults is do share your ideas, but in the early stages of your musings, be very careful with whom you share them.

Or keep them to yourself until they have enough structure in the physical realm to stand up to the potentially destructive energetic forces of others.

I picture a new idea as a soap bubble, floating in the air.

Energetically, it’s fragile and able to be taken by a gust of wind or some other gentle shift in the environment.

In order to preserve an idea, energetically, it is important to protect its energetic environment.

And the way that can be done is to keep it to oneself until it has grown strong enough that mild fluctuations in the environment will not effect its stability.

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is that a new thought has an energy of it’s own, but it must be protected.

If the idea is shared with those that do not support the idea or that do not believe it can be pulled off (like a plan or decision) their thought energy will then be part of the energy of the idea.

But unfortunately, it will be the part that can make it go awry.

For example, let’s say you are going to write a book. That idea is whole and complete and intact. You are inspired.

Then you go and tell John Doe that you are going to write a book. It is possible then for John to pull you off course by a single comment, or even to support you face to face and then mentally hope that you will fail or think that you will fail.

John’s ability to do this is tenfold if you are empathic or psychic, as many indigo adults are, and are not able to filter out others or distinguish between what “stuff” is yours and what “stuff” belongs to other people.

I’m writing this at a time in my life where there are many projects going on. Some are still in their fledgling stages… some are further along.

And a few have been derailed because it was too tempting to me to spread the word about what I am up to because I am excited about it.

And in this modern age, things like facebook and twitter make it so easy to shout your plans and ideas from the rooftops prematurely.

In my case, I did so, and I started to feel a shift in the way I felt about the idea.

I felt insecure and like I wasn’t that into it anymore.

And then I realized that I had just posted something about it on a social networking site and that that was swaying my attitude about my idea.

Knowing this, I have cleared energy of others around the idea (you can clear anything energetically) and since then I have been back on track.

As I have gotten older, I have also learned to dig in deep and push myself beyond what I am hearing in the ether.

The one upside to sharing ideas is when it is truly with a helpful and supportive person. But sometimes you never know. (see my next post)

Do you remember the scene in Raiders Of The Lost Ark where they open up the ark and craziness and melted faces ensues?

Ever since I saw that scene as a little girl, I have vividly remembered that scene, not just because it was super gross and scary, but because I think it holds a very important analogy.

The people that survived that scene were the ones that closed their eyes. Despite the chaos in their world and the temptation to watch the chaos, they closed their eyes and kept them closed.

I just saw a documentary called Zeitgeist, which offered yet another doomsday scenario to the coming years.

I recommend this movie ONLY if you can detach yourself enough from the material and take the information in in a factual way, which I think is very difficult, especially for empaths and indigo adults.

The movie paints a pretty dismal scenario, but here is the thing… I think we, as indigo adults, have to take in the facts and then look for solutions.

We must ask the question, “How can we create a future where everyone, or as many people as possible, wins?

And the reason I say you must take in the information but not get caught up in the emotional stimulation it causes is because that if you get emotionally caught up, it is equivalent to leaving your eyes open when the open the ark in Indiana Jones.

Closing your eyes does not mean closing off the information coming to you from the world around you. In Indiana Jones, how would they have known the right time to close their eyes if they hadn’t been paying attention to what is going on around them?

I see the closing of the eyes the equivalent of the manifestation work necessary to get through the earth changes and to help others do the same.

Closing of the eyes in Indiana Jones is equivalent to thinking thoughts of love and well being with single focus and pig-headed determination to prevent getting sucked into any scuffle happening around you.

Easier said than done.

And what I always find weird about these movies is that these evil elitist are on the same planet as we are and breathe the same air and drink the same water. If they are as wise and all knowing as these movies purport them to be… if they have kept their connection to the earth by knowing the true truth of human divinity… then who in their right and empowered mind would ever conceive a scenario such as world domination, enslavement and control?

The elite societies have known the laws of manifestation for centuries. It seems that it goes completely against those laws to step on others to get to the top.

So in thinking of this movie’s future scenario, I have thought of a few things to think about.

1. You are always in control of your thoughts, so no matter what happens think thoughts of love… you family, your dog, your favorite things to do, etc… Use that to stay centered (aka… to keep your eyes closed if you happen to be in a scene where the ark is opening)

2. Love your enemy. I know this sounds sort of cliche, but think about it… if these bad elitists had a glimmer of heart chakra energy open to themselves, would they be able to do the things they do (or that the movie says they are doing)? Or if they were open to the empathic power that I believe everyone has innately… How long do you think separation mentality would occur? So I pray that those that have the power to do lots of good in the world… the most good… have a continued experience of heart opening and empathic experiencing to what they give their attention to and make decisions about.

I posted about Cynthia Crawford’s website a few months ago and in the video that is currently on her homepage, she talks about an experience with a bad alien that had taken someone away. A person witnessed the alien abducting this other person and told the alien to stop and he said, “What are you going to do about it?” and the person said, “I will love you.” And the alien put down the person he was taking away and left. (BTW, most of the species of aliens Cynthia Crawford talks about are kind but there are a few persnickety ones, and this occurrence was with one of those.)

I tell this story to illustrate the power of love thoughts and emotion, and the hope that we, as a planet, start to recognize and use that power.

Additionally, you will find that you can use this phrase mentally for big and small issues, and for me there is a huge sensation of safety and power (true power… self empowerment) that this thought/this phrase ignites in me when I use it.

I don’t have a step 3. I’m hoping some of you indigo adults and other psychic minds write in your thoughts so that we do have a philosophy of game plan. I’m sure, like me, you have read a ton of books on the earth changes and you’ve mentally made decisions on how to manage your energy and resources should things start shifting fast.

Part of me thinks that things will be so fluid that there really is no way to prepare in the physical world for all that is to come. That this will be a test of our inner worlds (eyes closed).

But I am kind of fascinated by all this, if only to become clearer in my own intuition on right ways of thought and action.

I believe that Indigo Adults have a natural ability to manifest what they want.

Notice I said “what they want.” We all, indigos and non-indigos, have the ability to manifest, but I think that indigo adults and indigo children are aware of this ability and therefore intuitively understand that where they direct their thoughts and how they weave their emotions around such thoughts will lead to corresponding manifestation.

Therefore, if they are not out of alignment (and we all have been out of alignment or forgotten our innate knowledge of these laws at one point or another) they will not only manifest, but they will manifest quickly and with positive experiences.

Well, this is true most of the time. Even when I manifest with positive energy/emotion, I can still get some very unexpected results.

Here’s an example:

I just moved into a very quiet condo with two roommates. They’re super-cool and I am happy there, but I am noticing that things that I used to be able to do in my last home (with roommates) is not as accessible.

Without mincing words, my uber-favorite vibrator that I’ve had for over 10 years is too loud and so I’ve been… well… somewhat unfulfilled in some regards since I moved. I broke up with my last boyfriend (the Petunia) over 4 months ago.

Where can I get some relief?

So I drove down to Sedona and quite accidentally I found myself in a beautiful secluded area and got an urge to find some “satisfaction”.

Oddly enough, I had the vibrator in my purse that day. Don’t ask me why because I had no plans to use it.

So I enjoyed the little spot I had carved out for myself, and found the relief I was seeking.

But things that I focus on while in the moments of sexual ecstasy tend to manifest themselves rather quickly. This is even more true in lovely, higher vibrational Sedona.

I will go into the energetically-respectful way to think of others when you are sexually pleasuring yourself. There is a way to do it and it is very important that you DO do it.

And on this day I did. And he was wonderful. A bit of a trickster… the funny, playful ones always turn me on the most.

Well, not sooner than 10 minutes pass and I see a couple walk by. They were headed down to the same swimming hole I was and I followed them down, not making any connection between my recent fantasy and the couple.

After conversing with them a bit, it struck me that the gentleman was a bit darker than the energy I typically find in Sedona. Spiritual… Yes, but something about him seemed not deliberately dark but a little like Puck from Shakespeare’s Mid Summer Night’s Dream.

They invited me to go into the deeper woods. He was a local (which surprised me again… He didn’t seem like the typical local) and said that it wasn’t too far and it was a beautiful deep swimming area.

I followed because I’m always excited to find new areas of Sedona that are off the beaten path.

We’ll this little walk turned into a 20 minute hike though thick brush, huge rocks, deep sand and over rivers. And there I was in aqua socks (and the other woman in flip flops) and he’s wondering why we can’t keep up. Oh, and I’m carrying a giant blow-up raft. Seriously. In retrospect, it’s quite funny.

Remembering that I was in Sedona, I said “What is the lesson here? This must be one of my lessons and I’m getting annoyed with this dude so it MUST be one of my lessons.”

Well, then I realized that the energy I was playing with (respectfully) when i was alone was reflected in the personality of this man, this Puck.

In reminding myself that reality can immediately shift with my thoughts in Sedona I decided to ask “her” (Sedona) for safe and quick return to my car.

It was immediately at that point that the other woman (in the flip flops) suggest that we turn around and go back because her feet were getting sore. Puck agreed, and we were out of there in 5 minutes, even though it had taken 20 to go in.

Again, quite weird but ok.

The other lesson is that sometimes energy, things and people are only meant to pass through us. We, as 3rd dimensional beings, spend so much time acquiring people, relationships, things, money… that in reality, what comes into our realm is often only meant to be with us for as long as it is meant to be with us.

After my fun by myself, I asked for guidance down to the water because I didn’t want to hike down on my own. Then the couple showed up. That’s all that these individuals were meant to serve as in my world.

I never put out into the universe that I wanted to hike and I was SO HAPPY on the banks of the creek that I heard myself question why I was leaving to go hiking.

So the other lesson for me that day was… Let the energy pass through. Put in the request to the universe, let it be answered, but don’t feel compelled to hold on to the manifestation if it doesn’t suit me anymore.
